About The Position

Metropolitan Family Services (MFS) is seeking to fill a new full-time role of an Associate Director of Community Safety & Transit Operations, within its MPI center. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or significant experience working with high-risk, street-involved individuals, required.
  • 4 + years of experience in Community Violence Intervention with increasing levels of responsibility, required.
  • First hand knowledge of the community and knowledge of current street conflicts, required.
  • Travel/Driving for work required with a personally owned vehicle.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Demonstrated superior skills with families or communities.
  • Demonstrated competence in consultation, teaching, and writing.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or training in crisis intervention, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and coordinates monthly meetings with Senior CPRU Field Managers and Crisis Response staff within the assigned unit.
  • Develops and maintains contacts with community groups relating to program needs.
  • Works collaboratively with community agencies, organizations, and institutions.
  • Works collaboratively with other program supervisors in the unit to carry out unit goals and looks for other opportunities for program development.
  • Works effectively with diverse staff and service population.
  • Manages deployment strategy for assigned region staff.
  • Manages documentation for assigned region.
  • Participates in strategic planning and debriefing meetings.
  • Provides recommendations based on deployment mission outcomes.
  • Trains staff, interns, Metropolitan Peace Initiatives partners, and external partners on the MPA street outreach best practice model and curriculum.
  • Tracks caseload numbers and participant outcome data and provides timely reports to Director of Community Safety & Transit Operation, as requested.
  • Collaborates with Metropolitan Peace Initiatives and external partners to provide targeted support services to participants.
  • Provides emergency support to Metropolitan Peace Initiatives partners and participants in crisis.
  • Other duties as assigned.
