About The Position

This strategic commercial leadership role at dsm-firmenich involves leading the regional growth strategy for two major Key Global Accounts in North America. The Associate Director will translate global direction into commercial execution, focusing on driving profitable growth, strengthening customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and positioning dsm-firmenich as a preferred innovation partner. The role requires close collaboration with global leadership and cross-functional teams to shape long-term account strategies and deliver value-added solutions.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of commercial experience within the food, flavor, ingredients, or related industry, with a track record of delivering profitable growth.
  • Proven success managing large strategic accounts and navigating complex regional and global stakeholder environments.
  • Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, and commercial leadership capabilities, including experience with negotiations, pricing, forecasting, and account planning.
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions, cultures, and organizational levels.
  • A customer-focused, entrepreneurial mindset combined with resilience, adaptability, and a passion for identifying and capturing new growth opportunities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Food Science, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead long-term business development and growth strategy for two major Key Global Accounts in North America, driving profitable sales growth aligned with global and regional objectives.
  • Execute regional account strategies while supporting global governance, commercial priorities, and cross-functional alignment to ensure consistent customer engagement and business performance.
  • Serve as the customer's voice within dsm-firmenich, partnering closely with Technical, Creation, Marketing, Innovation, Pricing, Operations, and Business Unit teams to deliver value-added solutions.
  • Manage commercial execution including customer projects, pricing strategies, commercial agreements, forecasting, and budget performance to achieve growth and profitability targets.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across the value chain, driving innovation, product development initiatives, and best-in-class collaboration models that strengthen long-term customer partnerships.
