Disability and Access (D&A) works to ensure equal access and opportunity for students by removing physical, instructional, and attitudinal barriers, providing reasonable accommodations, and fostering awareness across the University community. Its services include student accommodations, assistive technology education, coordination of sign language interpreters and CART/TypeWell services, the Disability Cultural Center, and Longhorn TIES support for neurodivergent students. The Associate Director ensures students receive appropriate accommodations by training and supervising Access Coordinators, maintaining a caseload of complex student accommodations, overseeing student-file management, and recommending process improvements. The role provides leadership for department staff and direction, and works closely with the Executive Director and Director of Disability and Access.
