Associate Design Engineer, LV Devices

Harbinger Motors•Garden Grove, CA

About The Position

Harbinger is an American commercial electric vehicle company developing an EV platform for medium-duty vehicles and hybrids. The Associate Design Engineer, LV Devices, owns the engineering design of low-voltage components, such as electronic control modules, sensor systems, and lighting modules, through their full lifecycle. The role works cross-functionally with Electrical and Software Engineering, Supply Chain, Supplier Quality, and Program Management. The engineer supports component concept and requirements definition, including interfaces with mechanical, electrical, and software systems, proof-of-concept studies, prototyping, and requirements documentation. The role also benchmarks off-the-shelf components; contributes to RFQ packages, Statements of Work, and supplier assessments; and leads component technical development using in-house and supplier resources. Responsibilities span documenting design iterations and specifications, coordinating component schedules and supplier deliveries, preparing and reviewing Design Validation Plans and test results, maintaining release documentation in the PLM system, and supporting PPAP and SOP activities. In sustaining engineering, the engineer drives improvements to cost, quality, and functionality; leads root-cause activities for plant and field issues; supports supplier quality; and manages Engineering Change Orders.
