About The Position

Chartwells Higher Education is hiring an Associate Controller for its University of Alaska Fairbanks account. The role is responsible for the account’s financial reporting and analysis, including managing the point-of-sale system and employee payroll, while maintaining client and employee relations. The position also supports accounting, cash control, inventory, payroll, and human resources administration.

Requirements

At least 2 years of accounting, revenue control, and cash-handling experience, or food-service management experience with profit-and-loss oversight.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
Strong financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Commitment to integrity, accountability, and ethical leadership.

Nice To Haves

Experience with point-of-sale systems, payroll, and sales reporting.

Responsibilities

Maintain bank accounts and account for daily cash transactions.
Track and maintain monthly profit-and-loss and balance-sheet activity.
Review the general ledger and balance sheet.
Resolve accounting and reconciliation issues.
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, including monthly and fiscal close, internal and external audit reporting, and report preparation and distribution.
Prepare daily deposits and credit-card and cash reports.
Maintain inventory and cost-control procedures.
Oversee payroll and human resources administration.
Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.
