About The Position

The Associate Cardiac Technician examines heartbeat patterns on electrocardiograph (EKG) monitors to detect any abnormal heart rhythms. This role assists physicians in emergency responses to heart irregularities. The technician observes an electrocardiograph (EKG) monitor and examines heartbeat patterns to identify any abnormal variations in heart rhythms. They recognize emergency situations and inform physicians so immediate medical action can be taken. The role involves recording the heart's electrical activities using an EKG monitor and checking the quality of recorded material. Ordering and stocking supplies as necessary is also part of the responsibilities. Finally, the technician prints an EKG report, detailing a patient's cardiovascular condition, for physician interpretation and diagnosis.

Requirements

• High school diploma or its equivalent is required.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) certification, Cardiac Rhythm Monitoring certification (CRAT) or National Telemetry Certification (National Telemetry Association) encouraged but not required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is preferred.
