Join S&C to make an impact on tomorrow’s energy challenges! The Associate Buyer is responsible for forecasting, analyzing, and managing the capacity of a product line within the organization. They address issues related to individual production line planning and play a key role in troubleshooting within Oracle ERP to ensure smooth and continuous production.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a post-secondary in Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Enrolled and eligible for a 4 or 8 month Co-op work term starting in the Fall of 2026.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members, adjusting communication approaches based on the audience.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently as a part of the team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to complete activities with accuracy.
  • Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills and an ability to identify potential issues and seek support for resolution.
  • Strong proficiency in utilizing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for production planning process.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the scheduling and production planning for assigned assembly line at S&C.
  • Partners with production planners and schedulers to determine the needs of the line, supply requirements and optimal scheduling for assembly operations.
  • Monitor current inventory counts, dynamically recommending purchases based on adjusted production schedules and adjustments to one hand numbers when appropriate.
  • Act as a liaison between internal customers, facilitating communication and ensuring all parties are informed when production schedule adjustments or changes are needed.
  • Update and maintain item data in Oracle ERP system to achieve optimal inventory levels for production goals.
  • Investigate and address challenges related to product variations and supplier issues, collaborating with the buyers to develop resolutions when needed.
  • Generate and issue reports for weekly or monthly forecasts.
  • Understand and comply with all applicable company policies and rules.
