About The Position

As a Buyer, you will be part of the Purchasing team within Supply Management. This team is crucial for supporting Irving Oil’s operations across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands. The team sources and procures goods and services for most business areas, excluding turnaround-related items and long-lead project procurement. This student role is based at the Irving Oil Home Office in Saint John and focuses on inventory purchasing, offering opportunities for independent work and task ownership. You will contribute directly to the team’s success by managing inventory-related procurement activities, gaining exposure to systems, processes, and supplier interactions essential for a career in supply chain and procurement.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Business Administration program with an interest in Supply Management.
Must have completed at least one year of post-secondary education and be returning to school.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong written and verbal communication.
Excellent attention to detail.
Proactive approach to problem-solving.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with systems like Oracle and Inspyrus is an asset.

Responsibilities

Manage inventory-related procurement tasks, including issuing purchase orders and tracking deliveries for Irving Energy.
Handle requests for quotes.
Work within Oracle to process requisitions and purchase orders.
Ensure supplier payments are completed.
Follow up on estimated time of arrival (ETA) for goods.
Confirm delivery promises.
Manage documentation through Inspyrus.
