Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 6 years’ technical experience; Master’s degree plus 5 years’ experience; PhD plus 0 years’ experience.
  • IT system ownership and system implementation experience
  • Proven experience with Agile methodologies, and Scrum or Kanban frameworks.
  • Proven experience collaborating with engineering and design teams spread across the globe.
  • 2+ year of experience leading project teams and/or stakeholder management in a cross-functional environment
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to draw insights that drive the business forward.
  • Determines and develops approach and solutions to problems.
  • Fluent in English as AbbVie’s designated global business language.
  • Experience with external inspection teams to facilitate audits, collaborate to provide documentation, and address findings related to business applications.
  • Experience with AI-enabled tools and automation to support business process improvement, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making including working with business partners to create prototypes and dashboards on the fly.
  • Familiarity with knowledge graph concepts and semantic data structures to support the organization, connection, and interpretation of business information across systems.
  • Interest in emerging digital capabilities, including AI and connected data approaches, to identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to generate application/technical requirements leveraging both traditional and agentic methods.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct partnership and IT system ownership in support of stakeholders in R&D Discovery and Corporate Business and Strategy Office (CBSO).
  • Provide strategic technology consultation, guidance, and leadership (where appropriate) for business/domain initiatives.
  • Develop and lead plans necessary to deliver the technological capabilities needed to enable business objectives.
  • Analyze business processes; elicit, analyze, and document business requirements; identify, create proposals, and present alternative solutions, assesses feasibility, and makes recommendations typically seeking to exploit and leverage new or existing IT technology components; Change management; And lead, coordinate/perform testing, verification, and validation of requirements.
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
  • Work with business teams to understand specific business processes, business drivers, and business strategies across multiple functions; Identify, prioritize, and communicate resulting needs and opportunities for business process improvement that can be enabled via technology.
  • Use appropriate tools to collect, correlate, and analyze data; record and maintain technical system and SDLC documentation and training materials. Conduct testing and develop preliminary findings. Adhere to AbbVie system standards and procedures.
  • Manage projects according to project scope and milestones. Determine approach and solution to problem when issue is within scope. Guide the efforts of technical teams.
  • Proactively investigate and understand capabilities of existing systems and technologies already in use across the business area and similar and interconnected business areas in AbbVie; Investigate emerging internal and external technologies and actively connect these capabilities to proactively address business needs.
  • Anticipate risks project/program risks, defines mitigation plans, and work with teams to implement. Work with business partners and BTO management, responsible for resolving changes to scope, issues, and risks that will affect multiple and/or large-scale projects/programs.
  • Anticipate and respond to current and emerging business needs and evaluate alternative IT solutions using standard information systems methodologies and best practices.
  • Proactively seek strategic business opportunities for the application of new or existing IT capabilities (across multiple business areas) with high-level business unit executives providing key opinion-leading clients with comprehensive strategic analyses and insights to help them discover strategic uses of IT products and services. Experience managing a project/program.
  • Build collaborative relationships and effectively interact with business and/or technology teams. Acts as a liaison and business process expert to assure successful implementation. Serve as a source of information for the business teams. Subject matter expert in their technology and/or functional domain.
  • Consistently demonstrate AbbVie's Ways of Working and Leadership Attributes. Ability to communicate problems in terms that are understandable to BTS Leadership and end users at all levels.
