Requirements

  • High School or GED.
  • 1 - 2 years Business or Healthcare facility experience.
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral & written), interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all clerical activities related to the clinical team.
  • Assists with nursing and administrative staff to meet agency and institutional goals.
  • Retrieves referrals from Hospital Intake Department via fax or e-mail.
  • Receives referrals and roster from intake unit daily.
  • Keys appropriate data into computer system to complete patient admission into WUH CHHA.
  • Utilizes technology to improve productivity and process.
  • Orders all supplies, DME, labs and transportation as needed.
  • Contacts the appropriate department to arrange for installation/repair of related equipment.
  • Prepares supplies and various items for weekend nursing staff.
  • Performs photocopying and filing as necessary.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in use of business and clinical computer system as necessary.
  • Assigns work.
  • Copies and completes assignment sheets.
  • Collects coverage sheets for team.
  • Screens and routes all phone calls as necessary.
  • Weekend/holiday responsibilities include: Confirming staffing schedule, copying and distributing referrals to the appropriate team supervisor and/or business service associate by 3:00 pm, tracking field staff as needed, and rotating to schedule work for the weekend.
  • Answers patients and insurer's calls in a timely manner.
