About The Position

This role involves using mathematical models and statistical techniques to analyze data and prepare reports, charts, and tables summarizing analyses and research results. The position requires organizing and preparing presentations to explain industry trends, discuss client options, and recommend strategies to meet client goals. The Associate will work with the industry coverage group, interacting and coordinating with clients and other internal groups. Daily responsibilities include interaction with senior and junior bankers for the preparation of financial exhibits, marketing documents, and information memorandums for clients. The role focuses on developing and strengthening client relationships by participating in advisory teams and structuring/executing financial transactions, particularly mergers and acquisitions (M&A), debt issuances, and initial public offerings (IPOs), primarily for middle-market Industrials public and privately held companies. The Associate will create and analyze complex financial models, perform scenario analyses, and interact with client executives to guide their financial decisions. Coordination with cross-divisional teams is essential for preparing client marketing or sales memoranda.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) or Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Applied Economics and Management, Business Administration, Professional Studies, or a related field.
  • One (1) year of experience (with a Master’s) or three (3) years of experience (with a Bachelor’s) in the job offered or in a related role.
  • One (1) year of experience (with a Master’s) or three (3) years of experience (with a Bachelor’s) with creating financial models including leveraged buyout models, NAV models, three statement operating models, discounted cash flow models, public trading comparables, and precedent transactions.
  • One (1) year of experience (with a Master’s) or three (3) years of experience (with a Bachelor’s) utilizing Capital IQ, Bloomberg, Dealogic, and Thomson Research Portal to fulfill various client deliverables such as market updates and evaluation of potential M&A transactions and capital market transactions.
  • One (1) year of experience (with a Master’s) or three (3) years of experience (with a Bachelor’s) coordinating with teams across divisions to provide financial advice to public and privately held companies on complex financial transactions.
  • One (1) year of experience (with a Master’s) or three (3) years of experience (with a Bachelor’s) developing financial model outputs and complex presentations related to various topics including, business strategy and corporate finance that require Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • One (1) year of experience (with a Master’s) or three (3) years of experience (with a Bachelor’s) managing multiple projects simultaneously with tight deadlines.
  • One (1) year of experience (with a Master’s) or three (3) years of experience (with a Bachelor’s) analyzing regulatory filings, including 8Ks, 10Ks, and proxies, and Wall Street analyst research reports.
  • One (1) year of experience (with a Master’s) or three (3) years of experience (with a Bachelor’s) performing due diligence, research, analysis, and documentation of live transactions.
  • Domestic travel required approx. 5% of the time to attend client meetings.

  • Develop and strengthen client relationships by participating in advisory teams and in structuring and executing a full range of financial transactions, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions (M&A), debt issuances, and initial public offerings (IPOs), typically for middle market Industrials public and privately held companies.
  • Create and analyze complex financial models and perform scenario analyses to examine the effects of proposed client alternatives.
  • Interact with client executives, working with other bankers to help guide clients in their financial decisions.
  • Coordinate with teams across the business to prepare client marketing or sales memoranda.
