About The Position

Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC is seeking an Associate, Banker - Industry/Country Coverage in New York, New York. This role involves creating financial models and valuation analyses for M&A and financing transactions, presenting to various clients, and analyzing financial statements, filings, and projections. The associate will collaborate with bankers to prepare marketing materials and client presentations, develop and present pitches on strategic alternatives, capital structure, M&A, and financing transactions to executives in the technology, media, and telecommunications sectors. Additionally, the role includes mentoring junior analysts, meeting with management teams and industry experts, building and maintaining financial models, compiling and analyzing financial and economic data, and conducting research on market share, macroeconomic trends, and sector data.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Legal Studies, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role.
Two (2) years of experience with financial valuation and modeling, including discounted cash flow analysis, accretion/dilution analysis, leverage buyout analysis, comparable companies, precedent transactions, sum-of-the-parts as well as benchmarking.
Two (2) years of experience leading development of client overview materials, strategic considerations, and marketing materials for organizations to convey their key attributes to investors and other parties.
Advanced Microsoft Excel including working with macros, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and IF/AND formulas.
Two (2) years of experience supporting senior bankers in maintaining client relationships.
Two (2) years of experience helping senior team members evaluate models to develop key judgments about client companies.

Responsibilities

Create financial models and valuation analyses during buy-side or sell-side M&A and financing.
Present analyses to corporates, financial sponsors, and private clients.
Analyze accounting and regulatory statements, debt and equity filings and documents, financial projections, and models.
Collaborate with senior and junior bankers to prepare financial exhibits, marketing materials, and client information memoranda and presentations.
Develop and present pitches to executives across technology, media, and telecommunications sectors.
Mentor and train junior investment banking analysts.
Meet with company management teams and industry experts.
Build and maintain financial models to gather, analyze and interpret economic and financial data.
Compile, analyze and summarize financial and economic data and other information related to companies within specified industries or financial markets.
Conduct research and critical analysis of market share, macroeconomic trends, and cross company and sector data analyses.
