Auction.com is hiring a part-time Associate Auction Coordinator based around Kansas City, Missouri. The coordinator represents Auction.com by conducting, co-hosting, and participating in live auctions, traditionally held on courthouse steps. The role involves interacting with bidders, completing the tasks and processes needed to successfully conduct auctions, and educating customers about how to participate. Auction days typically involve 2–4 hours of work. The position averages 6–12 hours weekly, though hours fluctuate and are not guaranteed. Weekly auctions are assigned by the Area/State Manager according to scheduling needs, so a flexible and adaptable schedule is required. Training sessions, administrative tasks, and other opportunities may provide additional paid hours. Training pay is $20 per hour. Pay increases incrementally after successful completion of positional training and as skills, proficiency, and responsibilities develop, within a stated range of $20–$30 per hour. The territory is centered around Kansas City, with travel of up to two hours to auctions in surrounding areas. Personal mileage is reimbursed over 40 miles per day; occasional travel beyond two hours may involve a rental car, depending on projected mileage. Travel needs vary with scheduling opportunities and skill set. The work is conducted at auction locations rather than in an office and includes customer service, equipment and materials upkeep, use of proprietary software, and event documentation. The role requires the ability to travel regularly in a personal vehicle, stand for long periods outdoors in all weather conditions, and lift up to 50 pounds when needed. Prior auction experience is appreciated but not required.
