About The Position

We are looking for an attorney with 0 to 5 years’ experience handling bankruptcy and commercial litigation, including business disputes and financial restructuring matters. Bankruptcy experience a plus. Our firm currently has 13 attorneys and is looking to grow. Associate will have direct client contact with an opportunity to work under the guidance of Chicago’s leading bankruptcy attorneys. Central Loop location. Resume required. Overall compensation commensurate with experience. In office position (with transition to hybrid), health insurance, profit sharing, 401(k) plan, etc.

Requirements

• Successful completion of a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school and bar exam
• Bankruptcy experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues to best serve clients

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Prepare complaints, briefs, motions, petitions, and other legal documents
• Conduct legal research and discovery
• Prepare for and attend legal proceedings
• Provide legal counsel in conjunction with senior associates
• Negotiate on behalf of clients
• Maintain detailed and accurate client records
