Join our Bankruptcy Group in either Uniondale or New York City, where you will represent clients in a broad range of bankruptcy, creditors’ rights, and insolvency matters. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated matters involving bankruptcy proceedings, loan workouts, and commercial disputes while collaborating with experienced attorneys and contributing to the continued growth of our practice.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited U.S. law school.
  • Admission to the New York Bar required
  • 2–5 years of bankruptcy experience, including exposure to Chapters 7 and 11 proceedings.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong professional judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple matters, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to client service and the highest ethical standards.

Nice To Haves

  • New Jersey Bar admission a plus.
  • Experience representing debtors, trustees, creditors, and/or lenders in bankruptcy matters preferred.
  • Experience with commercial foreclosures and loan workouts a plus.
  • Admission to the Federal District Courts in New York a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Represent debtors, Chapter 7 trustees, secured creditors, and lenders in bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings.
  • Handle matters arising under Chapters 7 and 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code.
  • Represent secured lenders in loan workouts and related negotiations.
  • Advise clients on bankruptcy laws, creditors’ rights, and insolvency-related matters.
  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery demands, settlement agreements, and other bankruptcy-related filings.
  • Appear in bankruptcy court and participate in hearings, conferences, negotiations, and related proceedings.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda addressing bankruptcy and related commercial law issues.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients to develop practical, business-oriented solutions.
