The Aerospace Engineering Department in the College of Engineering at California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) is seeking applications for a full-time, academic year, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank, beginning approximately August 12, 2027. Cal Poly emphasizes a 'Learn by Doing' philosophy and the teacher-scholar model, preparing graduates to make an immediate impact. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and master's level courses, contribute to curriculum development, build an innovative research program involving students, and provide service to the department, university, and community. Expertise in aircraft flight dynamics, flight mechanics, guidance, navigation and control (GNC), autonomy, or related areas is sought. Applicants with work connecting classical flight dynamics with modern computational, experimental, autonomous, or data-driven methods are particularly encouraged. Rank and salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
