About The Position

The Associate Assembler is responsible for producing quality work to prescribed standards, with a focus on continuous improvement to meet customer commitments on schedule and within budget. This entry-level, fully onsite role is part of Production Operations / Manufacturing at Leonardo DRS Naval Electronics in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. The schedule is 4/10.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to follow written work instructions and safety procedures.
• Ability to use required PPE and production tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Follow written work instructions and adhere to safety procedures governing the handling of materials, chemicals, tools, and equipment (WHMIS).
• Use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Participate in LEAN events, “Six S” activities, and action teams as applicable.
• Perform entry-level production assembly functions, including preparation, mechanical assembly, harness and cable assembly, printed circuit board sub-assemblies, spray application, and inspection, typically using models and/or drawings.
• Perform simple assemblies and install hardware such as screws, washers, and nuts, using a basic understanding of build documentation.
• Perform pull tests, verify tooling, use torque tools, interpret instructions, assemble multiple units within the department, and perform basic troubleshooting.
• Access production tools such as routers, parts lists, and work instructions, and perform wire preparation, auto bonding, and sleeving.
