About The Position

The Associate Analyst supports United’s Technical Operations Strategic Planning team by managing aircraft maintenance planning portfolios and using data analytics and decision modeling to optimize operations. The role helps assess capacity environments and lead cross-functional projects that support United’s long-term maintenance strategy. The position is based at the CSC-Willis Tower in Chicago, Illinois, with a hybrid schedule requiring three days in the office per week.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Supply Chain/Logistics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• At least one internship in an airline-related field or at least one year of work experience in an analytical role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data manipulation, formulas, pivot tables, and reporting.
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
• Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position.
• Successful completion of an interview is required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in airline planning or analysis functions.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau or Spotfire.
• Knowledge of SQL, Python, or other programming languages.
• Project Management or Lean Six Sigma certification.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement long-term airframe maintenance plans.
• Conduct data mining, scenario forecasting, and modeling to minimize costs and enhance aircraft utilization.
• Perform cost-benefit and impact analyses to inform maintenance strategies.
• Track performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
• Assist with special projects involving maintenance checks, modifications, and gear changes.
• Collaborate with senior management to present recommendations and insights.
