About The Position

Scaled Composites is seeking an enthusiastic and detail‑oriented Associate Accountant to join our Accounting team. This entry‑level role is ideal for a new graduate looking to build a strong foundation in corporate and government contract accounting within a fast‑paced, innovative environment. The Associate Accountant will support daily accounting functions, assist with month‑end activities, and gain exposure to government compliance, project accounting, and financial reporting.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline.
Prior accounting experience preferred; Internship or coursework in accounting considered in lieu of formal work history.
Solid understanding of accounting principles and basic GAAP concepts from coursework.
Ability to learn accounting systems such as Deltek Costpoint.
Ability to obtain and/or maintain DoD security clearance.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
Great organizational skills and attention to detail.
Great time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Ability to work autonomously, as well as in a team setting.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience with CAS, FAR, and DCAA requirements.

Responsibilities

Assisting in the monthly accounting close process, including reconciliations and journal entry preparation.
Supporting Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger activities as needed.
Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation for audits and internal controls.
Assisting with government compliance tasks related to CAS, FAR, and DCAA requirements (prior experience preferred but not required).
Supporting project accounting activities such as billing, funding tracking, and cost reporting.
Preparing basic financial reports and participating in data analysis for Program teams.
Contributing to continuous improvement of accounting workflows and system processes.
Providing administrative and analytical support to senior accounting staff.
Participating in special projects and cross functional tasks as assigned.
