About The Position

The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking a part-time assistant teacher who is passionate about supporting children, connecting with the community, and creating an enjoyable childcare experience. The role assists with planning and delivering fun, child-centered, age-appropriate lessons; provides a patient and sensitive environment for children and families; and helps maintain a healthy, safe setting. The position is hourly and pays $16.00.

Requirements

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Two years (2,500 hours) of verified childcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing dynamic curricula with fun, child-centered, age-appropriate lessons.
• Cultivate a sensitive, patient childcare environment for children and families.
• Maintain a healthy environment through light cleaning and support of children’s personal care routines.
• Supervise each child by identifying, seeing, hearing, directing, and assisting them, while ensuring a safe environment.
• Follow YMCA, state, and Quality Rating Systems policies and guidelines to support quality childcare.
