About The Position
The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking a part-time, hourly Assistant Youth Mentor who is passionate about supporting children, connecting with the community, and creating a fun childcare environment. The role assists with child-centered, age-appropriate curriculum and lessons, supports children and families with patience and sensitivity, and helps maintain a healthy and safe environment. The assistant upholds YMCA, state, and Quality Rating Systems policies and guidelines.
Requirements
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Two years (2,500 hours) of verified childcare experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and implementing dynamic curricula and fun, child-centered, age-appropriate lessons.
- Cultivate a sensitive, patient childcare environment for children and families.
- Maintain a healthy environment through light cleaning and support for children’s personal care routines.
- Supervise each child by identifying, seeing, hearing, directing, and assisting them to ensure a safe environment.
- Uphold YMCA, state, and Quality Rating Systems policies and guidelines for quality childcare.
