About The Position

The mission of Princeton University Department of Athletics is to strive for excellence in academics and athletics, while embracing equity in opportunity, good sportsmanship, and ethical conduct. In keeping with this mission, the role of the Assistant Women’s Ice Hockey Coach & Coordinator of Operations is to provide a quality varsity program that will challenge and develop the physical, mental and personal abilities of student-athletes of a Division I program. This position is temporary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent coaching experience.
  • Collegiate hockey experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • First Aid, AED, and CPR certification within four months of hire.
  • Proficient with MS office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • An understanding of the fundamental role that intercollegiate athletics, properly implemented, can play in the educational development of our student-athletes.
  • Must have a valid, permanent driver's license.
  • Valid Driver’s License Required

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the recruitment of student-athletes on a national and international level.
  • Assist with the management of recruiting database of potential recruits.
  • Develop and execute recruiting plan.
  • Plan and organize on-campus visits.
  • Assist in all aspects of coaching a nationally competitive Division I hockey program, including thorough knowledge of the sport, coaching strategies and student-athlete development.
  • Assist in overall program planning and organization.
  • Travel with the team to away competitions and assist with the coordination of team travel.
  • Assist/coordinate social media platforms.
  • Assist with alumni events and development of Friends Group.
  • Adherence to Ivy League, ECAC and NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Work within the framework of the Department of Athletics administration and coaches.
  • Communicate effectively with students, faculty, administration, staff and alumni.
  • Ability to uphold the commitment to the Department of Athletics mission and values of Education Through Athletics.
  • Plan and organize annual hockey banquet.
  • Assist with annual equipment orders for all gear, shoes and periodic equipment orders.
  • Reconcile travel and purchasing card monthly.
  • Assist hockey coaches with expense reconciliations.
  • Coordinate team travel that includes, flights, buses, hotel, meals, and visiting practice times.
  • Develop trip itineraries.
  • Be available to help coordinate logistics during official visit weekends.
  • Other duties as assigned.
