About The Position

The Maples Group is seeking an accomplished Assistant Vice President to join their regulatory services team within their financial services business in Montreal. This role involves providing services related to FATCA, CRS, and Economic Substance, including the collection and review of documentation, and the onboarding and classification of account holders. The position also requires preparing and submitting annual filings and liaising with clients and other third parties internationally. Requirements

University graduate, preferably with an accounting or finance degree, and an excellent academic background
At least three years relevant experience in FATCA/CRS or relevant regulatory services in the investment funds industry and have a good understanding of FATCA and CRS regulatory requirements
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft applications, with advanced Excel and data management skills
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to read and interpret documentation in line with specific requirements.
Ability to use initiative, be self-motivated and able to work independently, and work well under pressure to complete high volumes of work under tight deadlines.
High degree of attention to detail, accuracy and efficiency, ability to multi-task and excellent organisational, prioritisation and communication skills.
Adherence to policies and procedures.
Fluency in English is required.

Nice To Haves

Experience in working with account holder due diligence and reporting for reporting financial institutions under FATCA and CRS is preferred.

Responsibilities

Be involved in the provision of FATCA and CRS, and Economic services, including the collection and review of documentation for, as well as review and approval of, the on-boarding and classification of account holders in accordance with FATCA and CRS standards for a portfolio of clients
Collection and review of information, preparation and submission of FATCA and CRS and Economic Substance annual filings
Liaison with clients (internal and external), investors, investment managers, colleagues and other third parties in various international jurisdictions.
