About The Position

The Assistant Vice President of People Operations & Shared Services serves as a senior HR leader responsible for the infrastructure, systems, governance, and operational execution that support BAMSI’s people strategy and workforce operations. This role involves leading and improving BAMSI's HR Shared Services model, establishing service delivery standards, developing and managing the AskHR service model, and standardizing employee lifecycle processes. Additionally, the position provides operational oversight of HR technology platforms like ADP, ensures strong data governance, and develops executive dashboards for workforce trends. The role also focuses on building a comprehensive HR compliance operating framework, providing HR governance for payroll and workforce operations, and overseeing compensation, benefits, and leave administration. As a key partner to HR Business Partners, Centers of Excellence, and executive leadership, this role drives HR transformation initiatives and develops high-performing teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience
  • Minimum of 5 years leading teams within HR Operations, Shared Services, HRIS, Payroll Operations, Benefits Administration, Compliance, or HR Transformation functions
  • Demonstrated success building or significantly improving HR operational infrastructure in a multi-site organization
  • Strong knowledge of: HR Operations, HR Shared Services, HRIS & Data Governance, Payroll Operations, Benefits Administration, Workforce Analytics, Employment Compliance, Process Improvement

Responsibilities

  • Lead and continuously improve BAMSI's HR Shared Services model
  • Establish service delivery standards, service-level agreements (SLAs), escalation pathways, and performance metrics
  • Develop and manage the AskHR service model as a centralized resource for employee and manager support
  • Standardize employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, transfers, promotions, status changes, leaves, and separations
  • Identify opportunities to streamline services, automate processes, and improve employee experience
  • Provide operational oversight of ADP and BAMSI's HR technology platforms
  • Ensure strong data governance, workflow integrity, access controls, and system performance
  • Develop and maintain executive dashboards covering workforce trends, vacancies, turnover, labor utilization, compliance, and HR service metrics
  • Establish and maintain reliable workforce reporting and analytics infrastructure
  • Translate workforce and operational data into actionable business insights
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive HR compliance operating framework
  • Ensure effective controls for: I-9 compliance, CORI/SORI processing, OIG screenings, DDS fingerprinting and background checks, Personnel records, Wage and hour compliance, Leave administration
  • Coordinate audit preparation, corrective actions, and compliance initiatives
  • Monitor recurring issues and implement sustainable solutions through root-cause analysis
  • Provide HR governance and oversight related to payroll inputs, employee data, timekeeping, and workforce systems
  • Partner with Finance to improve payroll accuracy, compliance, and operational controls
  • Monitor workforce metrics including vacancies, overtime utilization, staffing trends, and labor costs
  • Support workforce planning initiatives through accurate and actionable reporting
  • Provide leadership oversight for compensation, benefits, and leave management operations
  • Support position management, salary administration, market analysis, and benefits governance
  • Monitor vendor performance and service quality
  • Ensure required benefits and compliance reporting is completed accurately and on time
  • Support wellness, employee benefits, and leave-management strategies that improve employee experience
  • Serve as a key partner to Human Resources Business Partners, Centers of Excellence, and executive leadership
  • Act as an operational advisor and strategic partner to the Chief Human Resources Officer
  • Lead HR transformation initiatives from planning through implementation and adoption
  • Develop high-performing teams and succession planning strategies
