About The Position

The Department of Accounting in the Smeal College of Business at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor position beginning in Spring 2027. This is a term position, with the length of the term to be discussed during the interview process. Continuation past the term length will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a range of courses in accounting and related disciplines, with a particular emphasis on tax and artificial intelligence (AI) in accounting. Instructional responsibilities may vary from year to year. In addition to instruction, the individual will support the teaching mission of the Department through regular office hours, student counseling and advising, involvement in student extracurricular activities, and academic administration. Onsite teaching is an essential function of the job.

Requirements

• Advanced degrees (particularly in accounting or tax) and relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary technologies and their application to accounting and tax practice, including AI-enabled tools and analytics.
