About The Position

The Department of Mathematics at Rowan University is seeking applications for one or more Full-Time Temporary Assistant Teaching Professor positions. These roles are focused on mathematics, statistics, data science, or closely related fields. The department is looking for candidates dedicated to teaching excellence at both undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate will teach a variety of courses in mathematics, statistics, and data science, aligned with their expertise. Beyond teaching, significant service contributions to the department and its programs are expected. Continuous professional development in disciplinary knowledge and evidence-based teaching practices is also a requirement. The Department of Mathematics is part of the College of Science & Mathematics and offers B.A., B.S., and M.A. degrees in Mathematics, along with B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Data Science. The department serves approximately 6,000 students annually and is committed to fostering a vibrant academic culture and providing transformative educational experiences.

Requirements

• Hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a closely related discipline by the start date of the appointment.
• Be legally authorized to work in the US; the university will not sponsor an applicant for a work visa.

Responsibilities

• Teach a range of undergraduate and graduate courses across mathematics, statistics, and data science, as appropriate to the candidate's expertise.

• Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current in disciplinary expertise and in evidence-based instructional practices.
