About The Position

Penn State Behrend’s School of Humanities and Social Sciences seeks to hire a full-time non-tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor or Lecturer of Music beginning Fall 2026. Responsibilities of the job include teaching undergraduate courses in their area of expertise (typical teaching load is four courses per semester), advising students, and providing service to the school, college, and University. Teaching assignments will be at the undergraduate level. Applicants must have completed a master’s degree in music, or related field by the appointment start date and have teaching expertise in music. Directing the campus and pep bands will also be part of the workload for this position. Applicants may have the ability to teach in other courses in their area of expertise. Onsite teaching is an essential function of this job. Penn State Behrend, is an undergraduate and graduate college of The Pennsylvania State University.
