About The Position
Penn State Behrend’s School of Humanities and Social Sciences is seeking to hire a full-time non-tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor or Lecturer of Music, with a start date in Fall 2026. The role involves teaching undergraduate courses within the candidate's area of expertise, typically four courses per semester, advising students, and contributing service to the school, college, and University. The position also includes directing the campus and pep bands. Penn State Behrend is an undergraduate and graduate college of The Pennsylvania State University, located on an 854-acre campus in Erie, Pennsylvania. It features four academic schools, student residential living, research programs, outreach centers, and a business and technology park. With 5,000 students, it combines the teaching focus of a small college with the resources of a Big 10, R1 University. Requirements
- Completed a master’s degree in music, or related field by the appointment start date
- Teaching expertise in music
- Onsite teaching is an essential function of this job
