About The Position

Rockhurst University's School of Education invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor of Education (nontenure-track) position. This is an 11-month position with a start date of August 3, 2026. Responsibilities include teaching graduate level education courses and supervising doctoral students’ research projects. Applicants must have demonstrated an active research agenda. The School of Education and the College of Arts & Sciences are committed to enhancing the diversity and inclusiveness of the campus community and the curriculum. Requirements

  • Ph.D. or Ed.D. in education, educational leadership, higher education, or healthcare education
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Evidence of an on-going scholarly agenda
  • Experience with course development, implementation, and assessment
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of three years of experience teaching at the college level
  • Innovative pedagogy, including online teaching and learning practices
  • Experience with directing graduate student research experiences
  • Research interests in fields such as curriculum and instruction, educational leadership, student affairs in higher education, or health care education
  • Expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methods
  • Experience with advising students
  • An awareness of and interest in the educational mission of Jesuit higher education
  • Evidence of demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring graduate students
