About The Position

The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is hiring a full-time, hourly Assistant Teacher for its early learning programs. The role supports engaging, child-centered and age-appropriate learning while helping create a patient, sensitive, and safe environment for children and their families. The Assistant Teacher also helps maintain a healthy setting, supports children’s personal care routines, and follows YMCA, state, and Quality Rating Systems policies and guidelines.

Requirements

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Two years (2,500 hours) of verified childcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing dynamic curricula with fun, child-centered, age-appropriate lessons.
• Cultivate a sensitive, patient childcare environment for children and families.
• Maintain a healthy environment through light cleaning and support children’s personal care routines.
• Supervise each child by identifying, seeing, hearing, directing, and assisting to ensure a safe environment.
• Uphold YMCA, state, and Quality Rating Systems policies and guidelines for quality childcare.
