About The Position

The Assistant Teacher supports early learning by helping provide engaging, child-centered, age-appropriate lessons and a patient, nurturing environment for children and families. The role includes supervising children to maintain their safety, supporting personal care routines, and keeping the environment healthy through light cleaning. The Assistant Teacher follows YMCA, state, and Quality Rating Systems policies and guidelines. This is a full-time, hourly position paying $16.50–$17.00.

Requirements

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Two years (2,500 hours) of verified childcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing dynamic curricula with fun, child-centered, age-appropriate lessons.
• Cultivate a sensitive, patient childcare environment for children and families.
• Maintain a healthy environment through light cleaning and support children’s personal care routines.
• Supervise each child by identifying, seeing, hearing, directing, and assisting them to ensure a safe environment.
• Uphold YMCA, state, and Quality Rating Systems policies and guidelines to support quality childcare.
