Assistant Teacher - Early Learning - Full Time
About The Position
The Assistant Teacher supports early learning programs by helping create fun, child-centered, age-appropriate lessons and a safe, caring environment for children and families. The role includes supporting children’s personal care routines, maintaining a healthy environment through light cleaning, and following YMCA, state, and Quality Rating Systems policies and guidelines. The position is full-time and hourly, with pay of $16.50–$17.00. The YMCA describes team support, learning and growth opportunities, and involvement in a nonprofit organization working to strengthen the community.
Requirements
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Two years (2,500 hours) of verified childcare experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and implementing dynamic curricula with fun, child-centered, age-appropriate lessons.
- Cultivate a sensitive, patient childcare environment for children and families.
- Maintain a healthy environment through light cleaning and support children’s personal care routines.
- Supervise each child by identifying, seeing, hearing, directing, and assisting them to ensure a safe environment.
- Uphold YMCA, state, and Quality Rating Systems policies and guidelines to support quality childcare.
