About The Position

Children of America is hiring an Assistant Teacher to work alongside a team of educators in a supportive environment focused on early childhood education. The organization's programs serve children ages 6 weeks to 12 years, including Infant, Toddler, Preschool, Pre-K, Before & After Care, and Summer Camp. The role interacts daily with children, parents, management, and teaching staff to support a collaborative and positive learning environment. The position may offer a path to grow into a Lead Teacher role. Hourly pay is $16.50–$19.50, with final compensation based on experience, skills, location, and internal equity. The role may also be eligible for performance-based incentives or other benefits. Job offers are contingent on successful completion of a background check and submission of required state documents.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of experience in a licensed childcare setting.
• Strong organizational and decision-making skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
• Flexibility and adaptability in challenging situations.
• Commitment to professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily lesson plans.
• Assist in creating a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.
• Communicate professionally with parents, children, and team members.
• Use technology to document and deliver child progress reports.

• Present age-appropriate expectations for children.
