About The Position

Gateway Learning Center’s Assistant Teachers support the implementation of an age-appropriate curriculum and assist with daily classroom operations. They help foster students’ cognitive, social, and emotional growth and maintain positive communication with parents and families. Gateway OneTeam members support and demonstrate an understanding of the church’s mission: Presenting Hope and Developing People. The role calls for character reflecting biblical godliness, a meaningful personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and active involvement in a local body of Christian believers. This is a part-time, non-exempt position working Monday through Friday, 10–29 hours per week. The position is in person at the Gateway Learning Center Campus. The salary range is $18–$19 per hour. Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must pass state and federal background checks and fingerprinting.
Must be able to obtain a Washington State Food Handler’s Permit.
Must be able to obtain a First Aid/CPR certificate, including Pediatrics.
Must meet all Washington State-specific requirements for the position.
Must demonstrate character reflecting biblical godliness, a meaningful personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and active involvement in a local body of Christian believers.
Must be sufficiently mobile to stand or sit for prolonged periods in a multi-level facility; the work is mentally and physically demanding.

Responsibilities

Create a safe, loving, and welcoming environment that continually engages children.
Work cooperatively alongside the Lead Teacher and take direction from them.
Actively participate in activities with children, including snacks, lunches, and play.
Perform other duties as assigned.
