About The Position

The Learning Experience – Clarkston is seeking a positive and dependable Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves working with children and wants to build or continue a career in childcare. You'll work alongside Lead Teachers to create safe, engaging classrooms where children learn through play and positive relationships. At The Learning Experience, we make early education joyful, engaging and fun so children are happy to learn, play and grow. Our curriculum focuses on the six ages and stages of early childhood development and engages children in hands-on learning activities that encourage them to explore and solve problems at their own rate of development. This forms a foundation for kids to Learn, Play and Grow under the care of our nurturing teachers and staff. At TLE®, we’ve created a full cast of characters that become our little learners’ educators, partners and friends through their preschool education journey. Each character has a unique personality and area of interest and brings learning to life by allowing children to explore the world through fun and imagination.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Must meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements

Nice To Haves

• Previous daycare, preschool, or childcare experience preferred
• CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus
• Dependable, patient, energetic, and team-oriented

Responsibilities

• Support Lead Teachers with classroom routines and learning activities
• Engage children through play, art, music, sensory activities, and hands-on learning
• Assist with meals, diapering/toileting, rest time, outdoor play, and transitions
• Provide attentive supervision and positive guidance
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom
• Build positive relationships with children and families
• Collaborate with teachers and center leadership
• Follow Michigan childcare licensing requirements
