About The Position

The Learning Experience - Byron Center is hiring a Full-Time Assistant Teacher to help create safe, engaging, and joyful classrooms for our young learners. You'll work alongside experienced Lead Teachers, participate in hands-on learning activities, support children's daily routines, and gain valuable classroom experience while receiving training and support from our team.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Willingness to learn and participate in required training
• Reliable, patient, positive, and team-oriented
• Must meet Michigan licensing requirements for the position

Nice To Haves

• Previous childcare, daycare, preschool, or experience working with children preferred
• Professional childcare experience is a plus, but not required
• CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus

Responsibilities

• Support Lead Teachers with classroom activities and daily routines
• Engage children through art, stories, music, movement, sensory experiences, and play
• Assist with meals, rest time, diapering, and toileting, and transitions as appropriate
• Encourage positive social interactions and growing independence
• Use positive guidance and age-appropriate classroom management
• Help maintain classroom ratios and supervision
• Build positive relationships with children and families
• Maintain clean, safe, organized, and welcoming classrooms
• Work collaboratively with teachers and center leadership
• Follow Michigan licensing and center requirements
