About The Position
The Learning Experience - Cascade is hiring a Full-Time Assistant Teacher to work alongside our Lead Teachers and help create positive, engaging classroom experiences for young children. If you're dependable, enjoy working with children, and are eager to learn, we'll provide training and opportunities to grow.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Willingness to learn and complete required training
- Reliable, positive, patient, and team-oriented
- Must meet Michigan licensing requirements for the position
Nice To Haves
- Previous childcare, daycare, preschool, or experience working with children preferred
- Professional early childhood experience is a plus, but not required
- CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus
Responsibilities
- Support Lead Teachers with classroom activities and daily routines
- Engage children through stories, art, music, movement, sensory activities, and play
- Assist with meals, rest time, diapering, and toileting, and transitions as appropriate
- Encourage positive social interactions and growing independence
- Use positive guidance and age-appropriate classroom management
- Help maintain classroom supervision and required ratios
- Build positive relationships with children and families
- Maintain clean, safe, organized, and welcoming classrooms
- Collaborate with teachers and center leadership
- Follow Michigan licensing and center requirements
