The Learning Experience - Jenison is hiring a Full-Time Assistant Teacher to work alongside our experienced Lead Teachers and help create safe, positive, and engaging classroom experiences. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Willingness to learn and complete required training
• Reliable, patient, positive, and team-oriented
• Must meet Michigan licensing requirements for the position

Nice To Haves

• Previous childcare, daycare, preschool, or experience working with children preferred
• Professional early childhood experience is a plus, but not required
• CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus

Responsibilities

• Support Lead Teachers with daily classroom activities and routines
• Engage children through stories, art, sensory play, music, movement, and hands-on experiences
• Assist with meals, rest time, diapering, and toileting, and transitions as appropriate
• Encourage children's independence and positive social interactions
• Use positive guidance and age-appropriate classroom management
• Help maintain appropriate supervision and classroom ratios
• Build positive relationships with children and families
• Keep classrooms clean, safe, organized, and welcoming
• Collaborate with teachers and center leadership
• Follow Michigan licensing and center requirements
