Assistant Teacher for Preschool Room- Kids Crest
About The Position
Kids Crest Childcare & Learning Center is seeking an enthusiastic and caring Assistant Teacher for its brand-new Preschool Room at its facility in Brainerd. This role is ideal for passionate teachers or future teachers who want to help children learn, grow, and have fun. As part of the Pinecrest campus, Kids Crest offers unique intergenerational activities and opportunities for children and seniors to build relationships. Teachers can also utilize the campus for creative learning experiences and community events. The Assistant Teacher will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment where every child feels valued. This includes developing age-appropriate lesson plans, guiding classroom activities, collaborating with lead teachers, and fostering the skills and confidence children need for future success.
Requirements
- 18+ years of age
- 1+ years experience in a child care center
- 1+ year of full-time college credits in Education or a related field; or be working towards a degree in Education
- Meets the requirements under MN Rule 3 to be an Assistant Teacher
- CPR/First Aid Certified, or willing to become certified
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children and families
Responsibilities
- Interacting and building relationships with students, parents, and other teachers
- Assisting the lead teacher in daily activities such as art, science, music and movement
- Creating and leading a supportive, nurturing learning environment
- Teaching children how to interact with the world around them
- Participating in special campus events
- Overseeing daily activities, such as science experiments, cooking class, music, games, arts and crafts, dance parties, recreational play in the gym and outdoor playgrounds, and so much more
