About The Position

Kids Crest Childcare & Learning Center is hiring an Assistant Teacher for its Preschool Room at its new childcare center at Pinecrest of Country Manor in Brainerd. The Assistant Teacher helps create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom where every child feels valued. The role includes developing age-appropriate lesson plans, guiding classroom activities, collaborating with lead teachers, and supporting children as they build skills and confidence for future success.

The center offers opportunities for children and seniors to build relationships through intergenerational activities and special visits. Teachers may take their classrooms throughout the campus and participate in community events and creative learning experiences. The new center has five age-specific classrooms and outdoor play areas.

This is a full-time, Monday-through-Friday position with various hours. No weekend or major-holiday work is required.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• At least 1 year of experience in a childcare center.
• At least 1 year of full-time college credits in Education or a related field, or currently working toward a degree in Education.
• Must meet the requirements under MN Rule 3 to be an Assistant Teacher.
• CPR/First Aid certified, or willing to become certified.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children and families.

Responsibilities

• Interact with and build relationships with students, parents, and other teachers.
• Assist the lead teacher with daily activities, including art, science, music, and movement.
• Create and lead a supportive, nurturing learning environment.
• Teach children how to interact with the world around them.
• Participate in special campus events.
• Oversee activities such as science experiments, cooking class, music, games, arts and crafts, dance parties, and recreational play in the gym and outdoor playgrounds.
• Develop age-appropriate lesson plans and guide classroom activities in collaboration with lead teachers.
