About The Position
The Learning Experience – Clarkston is seeking a positive and dependable Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves working with children and wants to build or continue a career in childcare. You'll work alongside Lead Teachers to create safe, engaging classrooms where children learn through play and positive relationships.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Dependable, patient, energetic, and team-oriented
- Must meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements
Nice To Haves
- Previous daycare, preschool, or childcare experience preferred
- CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus
Responsibilities
- Support Lead Teachers with classroom routines and learning activities
- Engage children through play, art, music, sensory activities, and hands-on learning
- Assist with meals, diapering/toileting, rest time, outdoor play, and transitions
- Provide attentive supervision and positive guidance
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom
- Build positive relationships with children and families
- Collaborate with teachers and center leadership
- Follow Michigan childcare licensing requirements
