About The Position
Assistant Teachers at Hoffman Estates KinderCare help provide early education and child care by implementing KinderCare’s curriculum in ways that meet each child’s unique needs. They create a safe, nurturing environment where children can play and learn, and partner with parents to provide high-quality care and education. They also support center goals related to enrollment, accreditation, and engagement, while building positive relationships with families, colleagues, licensing authorities, community contacts, and corporate partners. The role requires working indoors and outdoors and engaging physically with children. The listed pay range is $15.65 per hour; Illinois center employees at locations participating in the Illinois Smart Start Workforce Grant currently receive an additional 15% premium.
Requirements
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and handle multiple situations effectively.
- Meet state-specific qualifications for the role.
- CPR and First Aid Certification, or willingness to obtain it.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and work indoors or outdoors.
- Ability to assume low-level postures to maintain physical and visual contact with children.
- Ability to see and hear well enough to keep children safe.
- Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English to communicate with children and their parents.
