Assistant Teacher
About The Position
The Assistant Teacher supports the daily care and development of children at a child care center. The role involves following licensing guidelines and company standards, maintaining a fun, interactive, clean, and organized classroom, and building skills in observing, assessing, and planning for children and communicating with families. The position includes extensive training on childcare, preschool, and child development topics. The work may take place indoors or outdoors and involves physical activity with children. Compensation ranges from $14.74 to $15.31, based on position, education, and experience. Bi-weekly and daily pay options are available. Health insurance—including medical, dental, vision, and FSA—is provided for full-time employees; limited medical coverage is offered for part-time workers. Education assistance, including tuition reimbursement and certification, 401(k) with company match, life and disability insurance, and a child care discount are available to all employees. The work week is Monday through Friday.
Requirements
- Ability to meet state and/or accreditation requirements for education and experience.
- Ability to work indoors or outdoors and engage in physical activity with children.
- Energetic, dependable, and passionate about working with children.
