About The Position

The Assistant Swimming Coach at West Park High School will assist the Varsity Swim Coach with the day-to-day operations of the swim team. Duties and scope of assignment will be determined at the end of the interview process and before hire. The coach’s philosophy and style must align with Education Based Athletics and the Inside Out Coaching Initiative, or the coach must be willing to be trained in these approaches.

Requirements

• Current CPR/AED certification; CPR/AED training must be hands-on, as online courses are not accepted.
• First Aid card; training must be hands-on, as online courses are not accepted.
• Coaching certificate.
• NFHS Concussion Certificate.
• NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest Certificate.
• NFHS Heat Illness Certificate.
• Knowledge of adolescent psychology.
• Valid TB test.
• Fingerprint clearance.
• Completion of Keenan courses and all other RJUHSD-mandated certificates.
• All coach clearance certifications and requirements stated on the RJUHSD website.
• Submit a letter of introduction.
• Submit a resume that includes 2–3 references.
• Coaching philosophy and style must align with Education Based Athletics and the Inside Out Coaching Initiative, or the coach must be willing to be trained in them.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Varsity Swim Coach with the day-to-day operations of the swim team.
