About The Position

The Co-Head Swimming Coach will work in coordination with the existing Swim Head Coach to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Swim Program at West Park High School. The candidate’s coaching philosophy and style must align with, or the candidate must be willing to be trained in, the District’s Education-Based Athletics philosophy and the Inside Out Coaching Initiative.

Applicants must provide a letter of introduction and a resume that includes two to three references. Requirements

• Current CPR/AED certification; hands-on training is required, and online courses are not accepted.
• First Aid card; hands-on training is required, and online courses are not accepted.
• Coaching certificate.
• NFHS Concussion Certificate.
• NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest Certificate.
• NFHS Heat Illness Certificate.
• Knowledge of adolescent psychology.
• Valid TB test.
• Fingerprint clearance.
• Completion of Keenan courses and all other RJUHSD-mandated certificates.
• All coach clearance certifications and requirements stated on the RJUHSD website.
• Knowledge of swimming techniques, water safety, and NFHS rules.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Submit a letter of introduction and a resume including two to three references.

Nice To Haves

• Prior swim coaching experience at the high school or competitive level.
