About The Position

The Assistant Superintendent role is crucial for coordinating and managing all onsite construction activities, ensuring safety, logistics, schedule adherence, trade coordination, document management, compliance, and project completion and turnover.

Responsibilities

  • Constructability Acumen: Possess a general understanding of construction, including earthwork, foundation systems, building structure, envelope, MEP systems, finish detailing, logic, and trade sequencing. Ability to read plans and documents.
  • Onsite Management: Act as a quality control representative to monitor and ensure the correction of deficient or substandard workmanship. Approve material requests and deliveries. Participate in 3rd party inspections (e.g., geo-tech, structural engineer, fireproofing consultant) for directly supervised activities. Report deficiencies, problems, and delays to the project manager.
  • Safety: Conduct walk-throughs to ensure, enforce, and invoke proper site and personnel safety at all times. Interact with CRM for inspections and follow-up signoffs.
  • Project Documentation: Maintain a working knowledge of all project documentation. Coordinate and maintain documentation and processes for timely reporting, including daily reports, record drawings, SKs, Bulletins, Submittals, SCOs, ASIs, RFIs, and CORs. Ensure record drawings capture all SKs, RFIs, ASIs, and Bulletins for real-time information. Maintain a QC book for directly supervised activities. Maintain an FHA/ADA book for directly supervised activities.
  • Project Close-Out: Participate in the project close-out process, including obtaining all necessary inspections from agencies (MEPS, Building, Fire Department, Health, Public Assembly).
