About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager supports the daily operations of one or more self-storage locations under the guidance of the District Manager and Store Manager. The role helps ensure the facility meets high cleanliness standards and delivers operational excellence. Assistant Store Managers build customer relationships through in-person and phone interactions, present a structured sales process, and manage customer accounts.

The position includes daytime hours; this location closes at 6 p.m. and is closed on Sundays. Starting pay is $16.00 per hour. The role involves indoor and outdoor work, from sedentary desk tasks to physical duties, with varying physical demands and exposure to seasonal weather.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of customer-facing work experience.
• A current valid driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle for daily bank deposits and travel to other sites as needed, except in New York City and Brooklyn.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships by identifying storage needs and providing tailored solutions.
• Maximize sales objectives through unit rentals, unit insurance, and moving supplies.
• Maintain site cleanliness, including the office, storage buildings, and surrounding areas, through tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and grounds maintenance.
• Perform daily site safety inspections, including lock checks.
• Address and resolve customer concerns related to billing, security, auctions, and proper site usage.
• Handle cash transactions, balance receipts, follow up on delinquent payments, process customer payments, and complete daily bank deposits.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with Extra Space employees.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
