About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager supports the daily operations of one or more self-storage locations under the guidance of the District Manager and Store Manager. The role helps ensure high standards of cleanliness and operational excellence while building customer relationships through in-person and phone interactions, presenting a structured sales process, and managing customer accounts. The position works between multiple stores in the district. The starting rate is $16.00 per hour.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of customer-facing work experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license and access to a reliable personal vehicle, except in New York City and Brooklyn.

Nice To Haves

• Sales experience preferred.
• College education is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain customer relationships by identifying storage needs and providing tailored solutions.
• Maximize sales through unit rentals, unit insurance, and moving supplies.
• Maintain site cleanliness, including the office, storage buildings, and surrounding areas, through tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and grounds maintenance.
• Perform daily site safety inspections, including lock checks.
• Address and resolve customer concerns related to billing, security, auctions, and proper site usage.
• Handle cash transactions, balance receipts, follow up on delinquent payments, process customer payments, and complete daily bank deposits.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with Extra Space employees to support the company culture.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
