About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager supports the daily operations of one or more self-storage locations under the guidance of the District Manager and Store Manager. The role helps ensure that facilities meet cleanliness standards and deliver operational excellence. It builds customer relationships through in-person and phone interactions, presents a structured sales process, and manages customer accounts.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of customer-facing work experience.
• Current valid driver's license and access to a reliable personal vehicle, except in New York City and Brooklyn.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain customer relationships by identifying storage needs and providing tailored solutions.
• Maximize sales through unit rentals, unit insurance, and moving supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness across the site, including the office, storage buildings, and surrounding areas, through tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and grounds maintenance.
• Perform daily site safety inspections, including lock checks.
• Address customer concerns related to billing, security, auctions, and proper site usage.
• Handle cash transactions, balance receipts, follow up on delinquent payments, process customer payments, and complete daily bank deposits.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with Extra Space employees to support company culture.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
