About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager supports AutoZone’s daily store operations, team performance, and sales in a fast-paced retail environment. The role assists the Store Manager with team leadership and development, customer service, inventory, financial oversight, safety, and operational efficiency. The Assistant Store Manager may take responsibility for store operations in the absence of the Store Manager or Commercial Sales Manager, helping maintain company standards and a positive, knowledgeable shopping environment.

Requirements

Basic automotive parts knowledge.
Proven leadership experience, with strong communication, decision-making, and sales-driving skills.

Proficiency in managing, analyzing, and reconciling Profit & Loss statements.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs arise.

Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification.

Responsibilities

Assist the Store Manager with recruiting, supervising, scheduling, training, and developing store personnel.
Communicate effectively with employees and customers, fostering a positive and engaging environment.
Help meet sales targets, maintain accurate inventory levels, and optimize cash flow.
Oversee store operations and efficient workflows, ensuring compliance with company standards when the Store Manager or Commercial Sales Manager is absent.
Ensure customers receive WOW! service, proactively resolve concerns, and turn complaints into positive experiences.
Lead company initiatives to improve productivity, training, and retention of high-performing employees.
Maintain operational efficiency through effective merchandising and a clean, organized, visually appealing store.
Enforce Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) use, promote workplace safety, and assist with risk management.
Support budgeting, analyze Profit & Loss statements, and monitor expense controls to maximize profitability.
